Hi, I am Suzie, I'm a food sherpa and the owner of a pop-up restaurant in Budapest. I’m passionate about gastronomy and photography and jewellries. My Motto: "Flavours are memories", so taste Hungary with my help and bring it back as an eternal memory from your trip.

What makes you a lovely Lovli Local?

I was born and raised in Budapest, so I really know it as my hands. And thanks to the fact I had the chance to live abroad a couple of times and so to have foreign friends to whom I often showed around in Budapest, I learnt to see my city through the eyes of a foreign person as well.

What makes your tours different to others?

My tours are centered around gastronomy. And why? Hungarian gastronomy is not all about goulash, it's much more than that, a world full of secrets and flavours to discover. And to get access to this "goulash-free" world, you definitely need the help of a local.

What do you like most/least about your city?

Budapest had an unfortunate position in World War II., since the Germans met here the Soviets, which resulted in damaging numerous buildings and all the bridges. Many of these buldings still today haven't been reconstructed, but they are still grey and dark and "decorated" with holes left by weapons. But that's exactly what I love the most in Budapest; that kind of charm and majesty, witnessing the past and believing in the future. And what I like the least about Budapest? That's tough, let me think a bit...

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?

I'm a real wanderlust, so I have a long list of places I wish to visit in my life. And if you ask me "what's the first on your wishlist?", I can answer without any hesitation: CUBA :)

What’s the one thing you can’t live without?

Poppy-seed. Those tiny black seeds are an essential part of Hungarian cuisine, a taste with which I grew up and can't do without. not even for a week.

What’s your favorite smell?

Lemon tart. While it's baking, you can smell the citruciness of the filling mixed with the sweetness of the pastry; irresistible combo!
