Hi, I am Melanie, a key account manager in Hannover. I’m passionate about photography, cinema, good music, cameras, swimming, and long walks. My Motto: Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm
What makes you a lovely Lovli Local?
I've lived in several big German cities so far and I knew nothing about them (well almost) when I moved there. So I had to explore them on my own. That meant reading about the city's history, famous places and favourite tourist spots. When that was done, I got to know each town by simply taking my bike for a ride. Sometimes I got lost along the way, more often I discovered wonderful places that then became my favourite spots. I might not know the "hip places" everyone goes to because I prefer to escape the big crowd but I can show you (almost) tourist free spots.
What makes your tours different to others?
You'll have to walk a lot and I will constantly point out things you might not necessarily notice because I like details. Also: bring a camera! Because there'll be a lot of photo opportunities even though we might not pass the main attractions of the town. Imagine my tours as some guided phototour with some background information about the places we're going to see.
What do you like most/least about your city?
It's small and you can easily get from one end to the other within half an hour but there are many nice places to see. I don't like the city centre with the shops very much because it's this ugly 1960s post-war architecture. But maybe I'm wrong ;)
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I fell in love with London and New York in the last two years so it would be either London or New York :)
What’s the one thing you can’t live without?
A camera + film!
What’s your favorite smell?
summer rain: when it rains after a warm day and everything has this special smell. Wet asphalt, wet trees and meadows.
