AMSTERDAM

AMSTERDAM

Have you ever seen a sight on a sight riding through a sight? What sounds like an intricate affair is daily business in Amsterdam: upright Amsterdamers who soundlessly move through the city's canals on one of the legendary Dutch bicycles. Whether it's sunshine throwing leafy shadows onto the cobblestone streets or rain that make the bumpy ground slippery ā€“ Amsterdamers are always matchless when it comes to gracefully moving through town.

Once you've managed to take your eyes off those beautiful passing by sights you'll discover that the entire city is quite a sight for sore eyes. In between the specular water surface and the amazing frontages of the 17th century brick stone houses you can quasi observe how its charm is brewing up.
Once upon a time the Grachten served for transportation and water-winning; today they serve as a car-free network for strollers and for pure joy-of-living-winning.

Entranced by the relaxed atmosphere of the city there is really nothing you can do to avoid stumbling over major and marvelous things to see and discover. It's enough to just throw around a few names in order to understand what accumulation of art, history, design and delicacy the city is holding ready for its visitors: Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Anne Frank, Viktor & Rolf, Albert Cupymarkt, Heineken, tulips and waffles. Contemporary art and eateries are complementing the inspiring, tightly packed but still cosy city experience.

Just as blinds are hardly ever being let down in front of illuminated windows at night the openness and kindness of the city and its inhabitants will never let you down. And you will leave Amsterdam with the feeling that the Dutch Golden Age is not over yet.
